A commission is a collaboration: you bring the need (space, vibe, meaning, budget), I bring the craft, the structure, and the refusal to phone it in. This page tells you exactly how it works, so you don’t have to guess.
What you can commission
- Original paintings (abstract, symbolic, series-based)
- Calligraphy / hand-lettering (phrases, dedications, vows, memorial pieces)
- Murals and large-scale lettering (site-specific)
- Hybrid pieces (painting + calligraphy integrated)
If you’re not sure which format fits, that’s normal. Send the basics and I’ll recommend a direction.
What I need from you
- Size (or a photo of the wall with rough measurements)
- Where it will live (home, office, therapy space, restaurant, etc.)
- Color preferences (or “no preference, surprise me responsibly”)
- Deadline (if any)
- Budget range (so we design intelligently)
Process
1) Inquiry → You email the details. I respond with questions if needed.
2) Quote → I give a price and timeline (and options if you want to scale up/down).
3) Deposit → To schedule the work, I typically require a deposit. (This keeps the calendar honest.)
4) Build → I create the piece with progress updates at agreed checkpoints.
5) Delivery / pickup → Local drop-off in Austin when possible; shipping available depending on size.
The goal is simple: you get an original that feels inevitable in your space, not something that merely “matches the couch.”
